Second Breakfast

Copper would make a fine Hobbit, he loves food. He would be quite happy if he could have breakfast, second breakfast, elevensies, luncheon, afternoon tea, dinner and supper everyday. If there is food-He Eats. Which makes it difficult because my other two cats like to graze, eating little bits at a time all through the day. So each day we uncover the food bowl multiple times for Bitsey and Tigger, then cover it so Copper doesn't help himself. Well, today I forgot to cover the bowl so Copper had a second breakfast. Then I found him laying on my bed with his tummy bulging, what a piggy!

Fun, Fun, Fun

The fundraiser crop we had for American Heart Association was so much fun. We raised almost two thousand dollars for AHA. We had a great mini class by Rocio and a fun make-n-take by Daniela. I enjoyed getting to meet Nikki and watching her create amazing layouts. She is so sweet and very talented.

I also got to indulge my vintage button addiction. Betts Vidal attended the crop with her daughters and she brought some of her beautiful vintage items.

How could I resist these beautiful button vignettes that she made!

Ribbon Re-Organization (again)

Inspired by Lily's ribbon sorting, I decided it was time to
work on mine again. I have tried many many many different
ways to store my ribbon. The neat little spools, embroidery
floss rings and bags, compartmented boxes etc failed
because I disovered that I hated to continually have to
rewrap the ribbon. I tried the clear acrylic paint cans and
they looked beautiful, I loved being able to just dump the
pile of ribbon back in when I was done BUT storage and
transporting them anywhere was a nightmare. So, using
an idea I saw elsewhere, I am now trying the very low tech,
inexpensive shoe holder. I sorted the ribbon into quart size
bags, folded them over and stuffed them in the slots.
Hopefully this ends my quest for the perfect ribbon storage!

Yours Till Niagara Falls

Do you remember autograph books? Not the kind you took to Disneyland but the ones you had your friends sign at school? I think I'm dating myself! I found this book while I was sorting through some of my stuff (still looking for things to do while I am grounded). It was so funny to read through the verses and see how much in our culture has changed. Thank goodness we no longer teach our daughters to worry about about being an old maid and waiting on her husband.... Here's one I liked:

Barbara had a cat.

It swallowed a ball of yarn.
And when the cat had kittens,

They all had sweaters on.

Look what happens when you get stuck at home!

My project is done on time. Here is the card I made:

And here is what I used: K&Company Hannah scrap pad, ribbon from Rocio, Doodlebug heart button, Faux Pearls from Michael's, Duck Adhesive, mini Dot-n-GO glue dots, MSE sentiment stamp and Colorbox Chestnut roan ink.
