Vintage Thingies

Here are a few kitchen items I had the privilege to inherit from my husband's grandmother. I have never seen another cracker dish like this one. To see more "Vintage Thingies" check out Colorado Lady's blog.

Our weather is finally starting to cool off a bit. And the curled up position is so much warmer!

Vintage Thingies

Treasure from Mom's Dresser. Last week my Mom decided we should sort the things in her dresser. It was like a treasure hunt. There was a small stack of hankies; including one that was mine. I had totally forgetten about my hankie with the yellow flowers until I saw it. I didn't know she had an Eastern Star ring or that she had been in the VFW Auxillary.

I remember watching her get dressed to go out and thinking that she looked so fancy with her sparkly jewelry. In her dresser was the fabulous pair of Rhinestone clip on earrings. And the red tin was something she used to hold sewing pins when I was younger. It originally held "Madame Butterfly Brand Pure Silk Ribbon" for an IBM tabulating.

Here is the link to Colorado Lady's blog if you are interested in checking out more vintage thingies.

Caturday

There really is a cat in this photo. Look closely UNDER the nightstand. Tigger picks the strangest places to nap sometimes!

Vintage Thingies Thursday

My first time participating in Colorado Lady's Vintage thingies Thursday. I found this quilt a couple of weeks ago stashed in a bag in my Mom's closet. It was made by my grandmother and I remember using it when I was young. It now resides on the back of my living room couch!
