Mr. Nosey

I don't know what was so interesting in the neighbor's yard but Copper actually looked for so long he ended up laying down. Maybe he was thinking the grass was greener!

Blast from the Past!

In an effort to eat healthier, I recently bought old fashioned popcorn. You know the kind that you have to pop in a pan! Both of my kids started to reminisce about their grandmother making "Real" popcorn for them when they were younger. They remembered how good it tasted hot and fresh with butter and salt.

Well, that got me thinking about my grandmothers and what they used to make. My paternal grandmother was an amazing cook. My favorite two things
she made were rhubarb pie and homemade
chicken and noodles over mashed potatoes.
She even made the noodles from scratch.

What favorite food memories do you have of your grandmother?

Fun Finds

This covered wagon is actually a salt and pepper shaker. I have been helping an older friend clean and sort. She said she started collecting S&P shakers as a child after she saw her cousin's collection. She bought the covered wagon set on her honeymoon in 1952 in Colorado Springs.

The older basket I found at a garage sale will be going into the store soon. The cat figurine by Kaiser will go to the store or on eBay. And I finally found one of Daisy's cards at the store (so I had to buy two, one for myself and one for a friend who loves Daisy too)!

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for my scrapbooking friends. We met at Scrapbook Expo as volunteers in the crop and became scrapbooking friends. What a great group of ladies. Two of them I only get to see when SB Expo is in town but I am lucky enough to get to see Patty and Rocio more often.

Mancat Monday

Where ever there is a pile of clean clothes or a blanket or towels; that is where Copper thinks is the best place to nap.

Oh beautiful for spacious skies.....

As always when I take a road trip, I am in awe of the beauty of our land. Living in a large urban area starts to make me feel like everything, everywhere is covered with parking lots and shopping centers so taking road trips reminds me of how many miles and miles of our beautiful country are not developed. As we were driving through Idaho and Oregon on our way home, I took lots of photos. Here are a two of my favorites:

I was amazed at the dramatic changes of scenery through Nevada. It seemed like every few miles it changed; green grass, sage brush, sand, green hills, rocky hills....

Surrogates

I miss my cats so much! But Woodson, Tubby and Arthur have been kind enough to let me lavish them with attention.

Backyard

It's so peaceful sitting on the deck in my brother's backyard; watching the deer stroll by, listening to the water and enjoying the beautiful scenery.
